Taro the Cat
A former stray in Enoshima
Taro is the house cat at Cafe Maru, カフェーマル, on Enoshima Island. Years ago, Taro was a stray. The cafe owners took Taro in and now it’s a happy and safe feline.
The cafe’s coffee and cakes are delicious and the atmosphere and decor delightfully eclectic and vintage.
Enoshima is home to many strays and I’ll be posting pictures of them, too.
My other Substack newsletter is Fiction by Bill Adler, a biweekly short story publication. I’d be delighted if you subscribed.
Stray Cats of Japan is a photo newsletter featuring images of Japan’s stray cats, which I publish whenever a cute kitty crosses in front of my camera’s lens. I hope you enjoy these photographs.

Why's he wearing his mask like that?
